Our country is dependent on imports of medical equipment. There is a huge market for medical devices in the country. Because there is no substitute for modern equipment to provide medical care. However, the lion’s share of medical equipment used in the country has to be imported. The medical equipment market in Bangladesh has more than doubled in the last 10 years. But the rate of development of domestic entrepreneurship has not increased in that proportion. So we aim to improve and modernize the quality of treatment.

If we take steps to import medical equipment, the benefits will directly benefit the patients.

On the other hand, the Department of Medicine Administration says that there is no possibility of developing important medical equipment manufacturing industry in the country soon. It will take more time. As long as the country cannot be self-sufficient in manufacturing medical equipment, it will have to depend on imports.

Doctors in the country are using a lot of high-tech medical devices for heart disease, cancer treatment and kidney dialysis throughout the year. Most of these items are imported. Some of the imported high-tech devices widely used in the country’s hospitals and clinics include cardiac stents, cardiac pacemakers, artificial heart valves, digital blood pressure monitors and devices, hearing aid devices, blood bags, urine bags, dialyzer tubes, medical ventilators, digital thermometers and x-rays. -Ray and ultrasound machines.
